About:
You’ve seen them on the Government Access channel singing “Gotta Lot to do
Here” in the award winning Greater Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau
promotional video, and soon you will see them again—at a venue near you!
Vocal Impact is Jay Wright, Roz Booker,
Ron Jenkins, and Lisa Clark—a vocal Jazz quartet that mixes a combination of
intricate soulful harmonies, dynamic musical arrangements, and raw energy to
bring you one of the most exciting and enjoyable performances Columbus has
ever seen. Considered as one of the premier jazz vocal groups in Central
Ohio for the past five years, Vocal Impact has been entertaining audiences
with their unique versions of Jazz and Swing standards (with a few hints of
Gospel, R&B, and Pop Hits, with a distinctive original flair) that you don’t
want to miss!
Often compared to Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices, you’ve seen them
in national promotions and conferences (Ross Labs, Nationwide, Red Cross,
Longaberger’s), with nationally recognized artists (Dionne Warwick, Jon
Hendricks of the legendary Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross, D.L. Hughley),
special events (such as the Nationwide Arena opening, Ohio’s Millenium
Countdown on WBNS 10TV), at local venues (Barrister Hall, K2U) and with the
local bands (Jim Lynch Revue, JujuBees Rhythm Revue, Fortune).
Quotes:
“Hot new vocals—I’m talking about Vocal Impact, a quartet
you’re going to hear more about. They tuned up at K2U one night, took charge
of the mics in front of the Jazz to Go big band and blew everybody away with
their swing version of In a Melotone. Think Manhattan Transfer, but with
soul.
