Ray Fuller, a Capital City institution and a regional favorite, has been serving up his own brand of roots music for over 20 years, electrifying audiences from Cleveland to Albuquerque with his powerhouse, The Bluerockers.

Guitar Player Magazine: "Sounds like Elmore James and Houndog Taylor tempered with the rowdiness of George Thorogood."

For the newly initiated, one of the first things that becomes obvious is Ray's deep love of the blues: Mississippi Delta, South Side Chicago, and Texas Honky Tonk. His heartfelt slide guitar playing even won praise of his biggest idol and influence- the late, great Muddy Waters, a moment Ray will cherish forever.

You can hear the blues and much more on all of Ray's recording, particularly his most recent offerings: Damn Guitars and Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers, Live! On Oahu Records. His recordings move seamlessly from one form of American roots music to the next- from the righteous rockabilly of "Loves So Tough" to the Cajun stomp of "Oh My Cherie"; from the dark blues of John Lee Hooker's "In the Mood" to the Texas style shuffle of "Everything That's Good."

Decibel Dennis McDonald of Rounder's Record Roundup: "If you dig the tough-rockin' sound of the Paladins, Blasters, Tailgators, or early Fabulous Thunderbirds, you'll want to scoop up a copy of this red-hot platter."

The Bluerockers:

Michael Gilliland- Harmonica and Vocals

Influenced by Chicago harp players of the fifties. Mike's colorful style adeptly compliments Fuller's big guitar sound.

Edward Adkins- Bass and Vocals

Eric Blume- Drums

This veteran rhythm team can move from shuffle to boogie to slow blues at the drop of a bottle, leading the Bluesrockers down authentic American backroads that more predictable bands avoid.
