Of all the words used to describe Eric, the most apt have to be range and versatility. When it comes to an Eric Dove show, you can expect just about anything. Playing a mind-boggling range of music from pure rock to classic rock to country to 80’s...to even a little rap!... Eric easily reads the crowd to select a different songlist each night. With several hundred songs in his history and the ability to perform any genre equally well, he can satisfy virtually any crowd. He also defies the stereotype of the acoustic soloist, sitting in the corner, eyes closed, crooning a bunch of ballads and folk tunes. Eric’s show is upfront and upright, with a healthy dose of rockin’ tunes, plenty of banter with his audience, and the rhythmic thud of his "porchboard" bass, bringing the entertainment value of the "acoustic soloist" up to a new level.

Let’s put it another simpler way...how many solo performers have you seen knock out Snoop Dog, Johnny Cash, and AC/DC back to back? That kind of range and the knack for picking just the right next song are what sets Eric apart from the rest.

Another important attribute that you can expect is absolute professionalism. Every show begins on time, set up without an annoyingly long and loud soundcheck. Playing through a somewhat unique Bose audio system, the sound quality is exceptionally crisp and clear and tailorable to any venue. Eric is also proudly sponsored by Budweiser True Music, meaning drink specials can be arranged with your Budweiser representative to correspond with Eric’s shows. Additionally, any size of custom banners and posters are also at your disposal for promotion of all of Eric’s show dates. Everything about Eric’s show will help to elevate your club above others...not drag you down.

Eric also has a long musical history. By the time he was 7 years old he was playing piano, had already written his first song, and had begun performing in concerts and plays. But it wasn’t until his college years at Ohio State that he truly began to hone his charismatic stage presence in his 6 years as the front man and guitarist for the immensely popular Columbus, Ohio rock band, Gingley Joh. With Eric as the primary writer, they received many accolades for their two studio releases, "Banter" and "6 Musical Selections That Don’t Suck". In 2003 Eric launched his solo performing career and within a year he was performing full-time, keeping a schedule of 4-6 shows per week.

Outside of the local scene, Eric is also gaining ground as a song-writer and country music artist. Eric produced, recorded and performed nearly every aspect of his December 2004 14-song album, "Go Big Or Go Home", and has managed to sell nearly 1500 CD’s at gigs alone. A mainstay at Whiskey Dick’s in Columbus, he has played original opening sets for nearly every national country act to come through their doors, including Sugarland, Josh Gracin, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Buddy Jewell, Josh Turner, Steve Azar, Gary Nichols, Jay Demarcus of Rascal Flatts, Emerson Drive and more. He also garnered attention from Nashville publishing company, Writer Zone, who have signed several of his songs to publishing deals and landed him his first cut with Ted Hughes-produced independent artist, J.C. Andersen. He also recently began a management deal with S.A.M. Promotions and Talent Company L.L.C. in Nashville, TN. to further pursue a publishing or recording contract.

Eric also holds an impressive track record in competitions. He was narrowly edged out of the final ten contestants on the 2006 season of USA Network’s Nashville Star television series. After winning the Detroit local competition outright over 300 other contestants, he advanced to the Houston Regionals as one of only 40 artists out of over 25,000 auditions nationwide. Playing completely solo, he also beat out 5 full bands to win the Cincinnati Colgate Country Showdown in 2005 and advanced to the State Finals. In 2004 he was one of only 16 finalists to star on the FOX televised series, "Gimme The Mike Columbus".

Lending more credibility to the term "versatile", in 2002 Eric also landed the starring role as the tormented anti-hero, Franklin, in the Silverback Productions independent short film, "Fast Moving Men". Then, in 2004, he was cast in the lead role of the nostalgic, love-weary Phil in the independent full-length feature film, "Garage Sale". Eric was also responsible for the film score for the latter, including the title track, "My Life’s In Boxes". Go to garagesalethemovie.com for scene clips and information.

Now, armed with well-rounded industry experience, undeniable stage presence, a unique sound, finely-sharpened writing skills, a new management team, his first ever music video, and a newly produced 14-song LP recorded at the venerable County Q in Nashville, Eric is poised for the next level in his musical career. Until then, he’ll happily play every night for anyone who wants a few hours of drinks, fun and great music.
